Historic Flower Show Free to the Public
This is a novice show—many of those participating have never arranged flowers for a show before—although some award-winners are showing as well. In addition, educational exhibits on the Holliston Rails to Trails program and the Asa Whiting House will be presented. Horticultural exhibits focus on flowering branches, perennials, and foliage plants.
The theme of this show brings us back over two hundred years, with categories that underscore the rich history of Holliston, including the library, Fiske’s, Lake Winthrop, and Holliston’s historic boot and straw hat industries. Tying in flower arranging with history will result in some amazing combinations using recycled materials, hats, shoes and water as elements in the designs.
Show hours are Friday, June 4 between 1 and 4 p.m., and Saturday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holliston Historical Society, 547 Washington Street, Holliston. Admission is free.
