A Little Night DancingThe Dancing Arts Center of Holliston is once again accepted to perform at Commonwealth Ballet's 24th annual production of A Little Night Dancing on Saturday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the R.J. Grey Junior High School. This unique dance collaboration was first organized by the late Jo-Ann Ehrenfried as a vehicle for combining the best in a wide variety of dance styles. The result is completely entertaining for audiences and a great way to introduce dance to young and old alike. This year’s production features classical and contemporary ballet, Chinese, folk, modern, jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip-hop dance pieces. The diverse program offers the artistry of seven Massachusetts dance groups, thirteen choreographers and over 100 performers.
This year’s participants include: Commonwealth Ballet (Acton), Angel Dance Troupe (Weston), Dancing Arts Center (Holliston), Gervais Dance Studio (Concord), Lexington School of Ballet, The Dance Inn (Lexington), and West Concord Dance Academy. Karyn Edison, director of the Dancing Arts Center, says, "It is important for emerging artists to collaborate and exchange experiences in festivals such as Little Night Dancing. It is equally important that audiences have local top notch entertainment provided by the mix of performers in one production".
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and can be purchased from the participating dance companies, at the door, or by calling the CBC ticket line at (978) 263-7794.
