Local American Legion Post 47 is looking for donations of supplies and money to support local troops at war in Iraq. Currently four local men are serving in the war zone. Since 2003 the local Legion Post has shipped over 620 parcels to local servicemen. Items needed include: phone cards, CDs, disposable razors, soap, men’s magazines (such as Sports Illustrated, Men’s Health, Boston Magazine, Reader’s Digest, Time, Newsweek, Crossword Puzzles) pretzels, popcorn, packaged lunch snacks, gum, beef jerky, raisins, dried fruit, granola bars, homemade cookies and brownies, crackers, peanut butter, jelly, marshmallow fluff, Fritos and Doritos, packaged or boxed cookies. Donations by check to the Gulf 2 Fund which help defray the cost of postage can be mailed to 310 Woodland Street, Holliston MA 01746. Supplies can be placed in the donation box to the right of the entry door at the Holliston Post Office or can be dropped off at 57 School Street. Help Support your Holliston Troops!
