Anyone wishing to place a nomination for the 7 Wonders Contest before the April 1st dead-line would have been well advised to stop down in the Public Library's Gilman Room for ideas. While some of the places depicted on Jim Hamm’s mural have been nominated, several remain.
Hamm a lifelong Holliston resident whose mother’s family, the Finns, arrived in Holliston from Ireland, painted the mural over a year’s time from 1998-1999. Hamm is employed by NStar and has served two tours in Iraq with the Army.
The mural nomination was sent in by Martin Velilla.
Studio D was once located in the former Colonial Pharmacy building(presently housing Banknorth) before a move into the town center to the former location of Edmunds, hairdresser. Three decades elapsed before Jill Schermerhorn (left) bought the business from owner D (Walter) Robbins two years ago. But a funny thing happened on the way to the game. Robbins is still working at Studio D and the employee of Schermerhorn.
It’s a well know fact that if you’re an investigative reporter and can’t find the local news at the Holliston Police Department, just stop by Studio D. If they don’t know it, no one does.
Studio D was nominated by Hope Bogdosian.
