Finance Committee Seeks to Fill Three Open PositionsThe Holliston Finance Committee is seeking applicants for three currently open positions. Residents who are interested in municipal finance and would like to serve the town as a member of the committee are encouraged to apply. Financial experience is helpful but is not required. All appointments to the open positions are for terms that expire on May 21, 2013. Applicants must meet the following criteria:
The Finance Committee is a seven member volunteer board that serves a statutory role of “advise and consent” on municipal financial issues. The major function of the Finance Committee is the development of the town’s operating budget each fiscal year; the Committee’s recommendations are presented for approval each May at Town Meeting. The Committee also makes recommendations on any warrant articles that have a financial component. The Committee meets on Tuesday nights throughout most of the year, with the most significant time commitment during the budget season from January through May Town Meeting each year.
Interested parties should send a letter of interest along with a resume to the Finance Committee, Town Hall, 703 Washington Street, Holliston, MA 01746. Applications can also be emailed to Paul LeBeau, Town Administrator (lebeaup@holliston.k12.ma.us). All applications must be received at Town Hall no later than Friday, August 17.
