Wine House Happenings

Hello Wine Enthusiasts!

Normally I would begin by telling you that September has gotten off to a great start for us, but it just doesn't feel right.  My heart is sinking because off the loss felt in the community.  I'd like to send out condolences from all of us here at The Wine House to everyone who knew and loved Joey, who was called home far too early.  I'm keeping this newsletter short and sweet, and forgive me if I don't sound as enthusiastic as I usually am.  Tomorrow is also a day of remembrance being 9-11 (and my aunt's birthday) so I've been a bit more reflective than usual.  As I reflect, I'm sure to count my blessings for all the wonderful people in my life and all the opportunities I have each day, especially being able to come to The Wine House each day.  We never do know how long anything will last, so let's make each day count.
As Scott is away, I'm going to be the sole caretaker of our pups.  I have decided to open at NOON both Thursday and Friday (9/11 & 9/12) of this week (instead of 10am).  I apologize for any inconvenience.

Wine Classes - Still a few seats left for September!
There are a few seats left in September 16th's class and only ONE seat left in our Food and Wine Pairing Class on the 25th.  Don't delay, call or email me NOW and be part of the fun.  If you have not taken a class with us, you will be pleasantly surprised how casual and fun we make it.  You may come alone, but you will no doubt leave with 9 friends by the end of the class!

Understanding Organic, Biodynamic & Sulfite-Free Wines
with Tim Gunderman of Boston Wine Company
Tuesday, September 16th - 6:30 to 8pm - $30 per person
Confused about the difference between organic and biodynamic? Do you really know what sulfites are? Spend time in our Tuscan classroom tasting your way through wines as you gain a solid understanding of what these terms mean.  I am sitting in on this one too!

Pairing Wine & Food "Light Bites" with Rochelle Wagner (me!) and Beth Cook (there is a reason her last name is "Cook"!)
Thursday, September 25th - 6:30 to 8:30 - $35 per person
Want to know why certain wines are better suited for certain flavors & foods?  Come experiment with us for a fun night of pairings as we taste both red and white wines and our own "lite bites" featured here at The Wine House (like our spring rolls with our new Plum Garlic Thai Sauce - yum!)

Just come in, call (508-429-4637) or email me (got.wine@comcast.net) to secure your seat today!
This Friday's Tasting - September 12th - 5:30 to 7:30 - FREE!
Join Smokin' Scott (no, not MY Scott) from Plymouth Wine as we taste some fantastic wines from around the world!!!  Not that MY Scott is not smokin'!!
