That old house on the hill at the corner of Whitney and Washington Streets, in East Holliston, is down and gone forevermore.

The Victorian house was reminiscent of the old TV series, The Adams Family. It was obscured for years by overgrown trees.

The trees came down, and when the house became visible, it was the topic of concern to passers-by.

The house and two adjacent barns, along with the 30-foot high hill, with the commanding view of the old cranberry bog, were soon to be leveled.

This will make way for two single-story buildings that will house six businesses in the construction/contracting field.

The house and barns are now gone, and the hill is being carted away, truckload by truckload. The intriguing house must have a fascinating history, so all assumed.

The staff of HNN researched, and interviewed life-long residents of Holliston and could not uncover any historical significance to the house nor, savory or otherwise, rumors associated with the building.

It seems that it was just another old house in Holliston that is now just a memory.

I always wondered about that house too....if only those walls could talk.
