On May 25, Holliston will head to the polls to make some very difficult decisions. The issue receiving the majority of the attention is the Proposition 2 ½ override.

For the last three years Holliston has been cutting back on education expenses. Indeed, for the last 9 years the school budget has effectively dropped .5% after inflation.

The Holliston Council On Aging (COA) wishes to place in proper context the correctly reported statement in the Metrowest Daily News that the Holliston COA "did not want" money that was added to Senior Center operations in the override amount crafted by the Holliston Board of Selectmen.

By Mark Schultz Yesterday was Election Day in Holliston and for the 4th time I was re-elected. I won with 79.97% of the votes cast. Most politicos would be thrilled with that result. I never spent a penny on this election but got "overwhelming" support. However I am very saddened by this result. 3/12/2009

The thick gloom that has surrounded the market in the past few weeks appears to have dissipated just a bit this week. As we see it, the reason for this is that we are getting more signs that some areas of the market and the economy are either improving or appear to have hit bottom.
